Loch Norman Highland Games Report

If you were searching for a word to describe the Scottish Games at Loch Norman this year, SPECTACULAR, certainly comes to mind! The weather was glorious and the events were second to none. Very little brings people together like the Great Highland bagpipes and colorful marking bands; unless, of course, it would be traditional Scottish cooking, whiskey tasting, athletic events, music, and Highland dancing. Loch Norman had it all in spades.

The Clan Forrester tent was a beehive of activity this season with clan members, Betty Forrester, Will & Sonia Newman, Jon David Forrester, Jeff Forrester, and Will & Joanna Foster warmly inviting visitors into the notable world of Clan Forrester history and genealogy. As usual, a wide variety of Clan Forrester related items were for sale and attracted a large number of visitors to our tent. Clan member, Joe Brickey, also kept checking in regularly. It was exciting to welcome new members - Craig & Lisa Forester.

If Scottish music is your muse, then you would have been in your element with daily performances by Ed Miller, John Taylor & Jill Chambless, Scooter Muse, Mari Black Trio, SYR, and Stirling Bridge.

The Loch Norman Highland games has enjoyed incredible growth for the past twenty-three seasons and continues to attract visitors from, not only the Scottish community, but a diverse audience from all walks.
