Ancient Relations
A picture is better than a thousand [sometimes more] words. All of us are cousins, it’s just a matter of how long ago. R-L151 is the parent of all R1b men in our Forrest / Forrester project. All our tested R1b participants are positive for SNP L151. In our project, only R-FTA1 is not represented. L151 represents the common ancestor for 11 of our established groups, X1, X2 and X3 for our unmatched participants.
When were we related?
I’m not sure about you, but 5,000 years ago is ancient to me. Of course there are various groups with more recent relationships. All Big Y participants have this information in their presentation of results. Nothing is learned in genetic genealogy without sharing. Each participant in our surname project has publicly shared their results and information with us. This is a good start to demonstrate more ancient relations to haplogroups I and J. Thanks to all that paint the picture of genetic diversity that is Clan Forrester.
